My Ideal School

My ideal school Education is something that makes our future better. The ideal school should be able to teach a person to make a good living and how to take care of our own responsibilities in life. My ideal should be situated at accessible area where students will have short travel time, but it is important that it’s not in the middle of the town where there are heavy traffics. It should be also far away from factories; so that it can create the learning atmosphere and students can concentrate on their lessons. The building also should be big enough to arrange the classes in an organized way and it must include all facilities that a good school need to give the students for better education. There should be also playground and recreation facilities where the students can refresh their mind during the breaks. The teachers should be able to prepare the lessons as interesting as possible and must be concerned about the students. It is necessary that they are capable enough to mot ivate the students to study in an effective way. They should help the students solve not only for learning problems but also for all the social problems.Teacher should always be ready for the students when they need help not only as a teacher but also as a parent or a friend. In my ideal school, students should not be afraid to make mistakes or ask questions. I believe that the best way to learn is by asking questions. If they don’t agree or understand, they shouldn’t hesitate to ask questions. Nobody is perfect and it is nature that everyone makes mistake. Everyone should point out other people mistakes in a good way, so that people can learn through their mistake and can be a better people. The exam marks shouldn’t be the only way to determine the student ability. There should be more practical activities to make sure the students understand and get the lesson. There should be a big knowledge garden where we can borrow books to increase our knowledge. Itâ€℠¢s important that natural light is presented in the library too. The ideal school should be the place where all the students are happy to learn for their life. It must make sure it created the atmosphere of cooperation to get the best future.

Concept Briefing

Abstract This briefing describes collocation of bibliographic records and how it helps to formulate effective search strategies resulting in good information retrieval. Collocation is the cataloging process of bringing together related items, such as titles written by the same author, editions, and versions of the same title, or materials on the same topic. This briefing also provides examples of the value of collocation in maintaining a successful library catalog such as compiling all information on Princess Diana in one record would be an example of collocation.Use of collocation in bibliographic records can provide vast improvement in information retrieval. Introduction Cataloging is a register of all bibliographic items found in the library. Items can be any kind of entity that is a library based material (book, magazine, audiobook, etc. ). Bibliographic control, cataloging teaches us, encompasses all the activities involved in creating, organizing, managing, and maintaining the file of an entity record. To maintain consistency in multiple matching entities, catalogers use the process of collocation to bring them together. The better the catalog, the higher the credibility a library has with its users. Users’ are more content with fast, accurate and effective retrieval of information. All collections, either physical or virtual, are formed through collocation, the process of bringing together related information (Taylor 1999). It is a useful term because it emphasizes the purpose of collection building and can be applied to the different means used to bring together materials. Collocation is often associated with physical location, such as when materials written by the same author are placed together on shelves in library.A library catalogue also provides collocation by bringing together like materials through a system of records and references. In the electronic age, collocation is associated with virtually grouping materials together, †there i s evidence that people writing about the same concept often do not use the same words to express them. (Taylor, 2009, p. 333) Definition According to Arlene Taylor, collocation is â€Å"the bringing together of records and/or information resources that are related in some way (e. g. same author, same work [different titles or different editions], same subjects, etc,). As all cataloged materials have a call number, collocated materials can be assigned a collocation device. â€Å"A number or other designation on an item used to place it next to (ie. , collocate with) other items that are like it. † (Taylor, 2009, p. 449) Purpose and implications The purpose behind cataloging was established in 1876 by Charles Ammi Cutter. They were: (1) to enable a patron to find a book by author, title, or subject; (2) to show what the library has by a given author, on a given subject, or in a given kind of literature; and (3) to assist in the choice of a book as to the edition, or as to its character. Cutter's objects describe two distinct-functions for the catalog: a finding list function and a collocation (gathering) function. † (Intner, 200 , p. 2) In cataloging, all publications of an author are filed in one place under the heading for the author's name. Editions of a work are together under the heading for the title. Then, finally, all subjects are gathered under a subject heading. Authority control is the procedure by which consistency would be maintained through these various headings. A library patron could search the records by a name, title, or subject search. Through collocation, all of these searches are brought together. Primary access points also provide a way to collocate all derivations of the work. If there are several manifestations of a work—a translation, an illustrated version, an audio version—choosing the same primary access point for them means that in most retrieval tools they will be displayed together. † (Taylor, 200 6, p. 171) Collocation is an important outcome of the practice of choosing primary access points. â€Å"This access point has proved to be, so far, the only way to collocate all manifestations of a work, including instances when manifestations have different titles, and editions have different authors. † (Taylor, 2009, p. 269)

ENG Abstract Burnout is a prolonged response to chronic emotional and interpersonal streamers on the Job, and is defined by the three dimensions of exhaustion, cynicism, and inefficacy. The past 25 years of research has established the complexity of the construct, and places the individual stress experience within a larger organizational context of people's relation to their work.Recently, the work on burnout has expanded internationally and has led to new conceptual models. The development of the logistics company to create many Jobs, special courier. However, facing to overload workload, the courier is prone to burnout. The aim of this research is to find what factors lead to courier appears occupation burnout and what are the solutions. In this paper, using the method of questionnaires solve the problem about burnout of the courier in logistics company in China. We hope can find factors to make contribute to further research in the future.Key words: burnout, courier, logistics com pany, China l. Introduction 1. 1 Research Background of Burnout and logistics company The relationship that people have with their work, and the difficulties that can arise when that relationship goes awry, have been long recognized as a significant phenomenon of the modern age. The use of the term burnout for this phenomenon began to appear with some regularity in the sass in the United States, especially among people working in the human services. This popular usage was presaged by Green's 1961 novel, A Burnout Case, in which a spiritually tormented and disillusioned architect quits his Job and withdraws into the African Jungle. Even earlier writing, both fictional and nonfunctional, described similar phenomena, including extreme fatigue and the loss of idealism and passion for one's Job. What is noteworthy is that the importance of burnout as a social problem was identified by both practitioners and social commentators long before it became a focus of systematic study by researche rs.Logistics is to satisfy customer needs, with the lowest cost, through the transport, storage, distribution and so on, to achieve raw materials, semi-finished products, finished products and related information from the origin of goods to the goods consumption to the planning, implementation and management of the whole process. Logistics is a system of control of raw materials, manufactured goods, finished goods and information, from the supply, the transfer of a variety of intermediate links and have to reach the physical movement of the final consumers, in order to achieve the organization's goals.Modern logistics is the product of economic globalization, economic globalization is an important service. The world of modern logistics industry grows steadily, Europe, Japan, America become important base logistics worldwide. 1. 2 The existing problems and the purpose of this paper In China, logistics industry started relatively late, with the rapid development of he national economy, the logistics industry market demand continued to expand.Since twenty-first Century, the state to strengthen and improve macroeconomic regulation and control policy, China logistics industry to maintain rapid growth, constantly improve the logistics system, industry increasingly mature and norms. The development of the logistics company to create many Jobs, special courier. However, the courier is prone to burnout, with facing to overload workload, such as sending 50 parcels on average everyday, Guessing logistics and waiting for customers. Especially n the discount season, for the logistics company is a war, the courier will face a severe test. Many express company clerks said, working overload to make them terribly fatigued, lead to service attitude decline or reject business is failing express industry. The aim of this research is to find what factors lead to courier appears occupation burnout and what are the solutions. 1. 3 Research Question (1) Is there any burnout in the cour ier in logistics company in China? If so, how often? (2) What are the major factors which contribute to their burnout? II . Literature Review 2. 1 Concept of BurnoutBurnout was initially a very slippery concept – there was no standard definition of it, although there was a wide variety of opinions about what it was and what could be done about it. Different people used the term to mean very different things, so there was not always a basis for constructive communication about the problem and solutions for it. However, there was actually an underlying consensus about three core dimensions of the burnout experience, and subsequent research on this issue led to the development of a multidimensional theory of burnout (Miasmal 1982, 1998).This theoretical framework continues to be the predominant one in the runt field. Today, the most commonly accepted definition of burnout is the three- component conceptualization used by Miasmal and colleagues (Miasmal, 1982; Miasmal & Jackson, 1981; Pines & Miasmal, 1980). One component of burnout, emotional exhaustion, is characterized by a lack of energy and a feeling that one's emotional resources are used up. Another component, diversification or demutualization, is marked by the treatment of clients as objects rather than people. The final component of burnout, diminished personal accomplishment, is characterized by a tendency to evaluate oneself negatively. 2. 2 Assessment of Burnout In the sass the work on burnout shifted to more systematic empirical research. A particular focus of this research was the assessment of burnout, and several different measures were developed. The scale that has had the strongest psychometric properties and continues to be used most widely by researchers is the Miasmal Burnout Inventory (MBA) developed by Miasmal and Jackson (1981).Subsequent research using the MBA has revealed that the intensity and frequency dimensions of burnout are highly correlated (Anderson & Knick, 1984; Brooking, Bolton, Brown, & McElroy, 1985; Gaines & Jerkier, 1983), so the revised version of the MBA (Miasmal & Jackson, 1986) includes only the frequency dimension. The MBA- Human Services Survey (MBA-HAS) was designed for use with people working in the human services and health care. A second version was developed for use by people working in educational settings (the MBA-Educators Survey, or MBA-SEES).In both the HAS and SEES forms, the labels for the three dimensions reflected the focus on occupations where workers interacted extensively with other people (clients, patients, students, etc): emotional exhaustion, diversification, and reduced personal accomplishment. 2. 3 Major factors Burnout is an individual experience that is specific to the work context. Thus, the research over the past 35 years has maintained a consistent focus on the situational factors that are the prime correlates of this phenomenon. The results of this research paint a clear picture of the impact of the work situat ion on individual burnout. These situational Factors include Job characteristics, occupational characteristics, organizational characteristics. People do not simply respond to the work setting; rather, they bring unique qualities to the relationship. These personal factors include anemographic variables (such as age and formal education), enduring personality characteristics, and work-related attitudes. Several of these individual characteristics have been found to be related to burnout. However, these relationships are not as great in size as those for burnout and situational factors, which suggests that burnout is more of a social phenomenon than an individual one. 2. 4 Summary Burnout is a prolonged response to chronic emotional and interpersonal streamers on the Job, and is defined by the three dimensions of emotional exhaustion, diversification, and reduced personal accomplishment. With the sustainable velveteen of the economy make a spurt of progress of science and technology, people prefer to shop on the net, along with the rise of the logistics field. At the same time, faced with the grim work overload, the courier is easy to produce occupation burnout, which leads to the decline of quality of service phenomenon. The social focus of burnout, the solid research basis concerning the syndrome, and its specific ties to the work domain make a distinct and valuable contribution to people's health and well-being. Ill . Research Methodology 3. 1 Research Questions The present research was to examine the following research questions: here any burnout in the courier in logistics company in China? The 3 interviewees, who are all over 40 years old, were chosen from the 20 subjects. These three interviewees were finally chosen because of the following sound reasons.First of all, of all the demographic variables that have been studied, age is the one that has been most consistently related to burnout. Among younger employees the level of burnout is reported to be higher than it is among those over 30 or 40 years old. Secondly, courier whose age ranges from 25 to 30, with I-to-5-year working experience, experience the least burnout . Finally, chart (3) shows the courier attitude to the Job: 4. 2 Results to those research questions and analysis From the above data we can see that The courier work long hours, less satisfied with their income.Facing to heavy work and low wages, courier attitude to their work is not active. In this case, the courier is very easy to have the occupation burnout. The main factor which can make contributed to the burnout of the courier in logistics company in china is the Job characteristics and work-related attitudes. Thirty years of reform and opening up, China's economy has got enormous development, continuously improve the overall economy, comprehensive economic strength strengthens day by day.In our country, shortage economy era has ended, economic development has entered a structural surplus stage, economic growth has changed from supply constraint to demand constraint, the sustained and rapid economic Roth is brought about by the accelerated large quanti ties of goods, services and information flow, which also brought the logistics needs of the exponential growth. This paper research on burnout of the courier in logistics company in China, help to further study and solve the problem of burnout courier. . 3 Limitations of the present study Firstly, the size of sample population is too small, which may make it difficult for the results and conclusions to be generalized. 20 courier are working in logistics in Beijing, who are mainly responsible for the business of University of International Business and Eco nomics. Without thorough and deep data, it's hard to offer the most accurate and authentic first-hand materials to policymakers or administrators for figuring out a way to improve the current situations in logistics company in China. 5. Suggestions for further studies Firstly, researchers should enlarge the size of the sample population if possible, like surveying all the courier in a logistics company in China, irrespective of subjects, through the instrument.

Human Resources- Relationships in the workplace Research Paper

Human Resources- Relationships in the workplace - Research Paper Example Companies have been attempting to establish clear, well-understood policies to minimize the potential for danger – both for the employees and the organization. However the role of the HR in an organization remains controversial as far as dealing with workplace dating and relationships is concerned. Gautier has explored the reasons for workplace romance and found that theories of attraction play a vital role. Social psychology also points out a strong link between proximity, familiarity and attraction. Because of close and frequent interpersonal interaction they are prone to develop relationships. People with similar beliefs, attitudes, education and background are also more likely to be attracted to each other. They have similar traits and goals; share each other’s excitement and frustrations, and celebrations (Loftus, 1995). At the same time, organizational attitude, culture and beliefs play a role in how the companies conceptualize, tolerate and manage workplace romance. The role of HR in workplace relationships is debatable. When Wal-Mart terminated the services of two of its workers who were dating, it was found that the supervisor used an out-of-date policy manual to justify their termination (Losey, 1993). A survey revealed that more than 70 percent organizations permit and accept workplace dating as most were of the opinion that the organization has no right to interfere in the dating between coworkers (Losey, 1993). However, when dating involves an employee dating a boss, or the upper management or the manager dating a subordinate, it has been found to be unacceptable (Gautier, 2007). Only if a supervisor dates a subordinate, can the organizations interfere and this has become important because of some well-known sexual harassment court battles (Jenner, 1993). There have been instances when an employee had voluntary--but not

Personal experience essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1000 words

Personal experience - Essay Example His other essay, â€Å"Shooting an Elephant,† exposes the evils of imperialism for both local people and white settlers. In The Girl from H.O.P.P.E.R.S., Hernandez emphasizes that despite physical differences, people can find something that will connect them to one another. This writer can connect with the feelings of social inequality in â€Å"Such, Such Were the Joys† and social stratification and division in â€Å"Shooting an Elephant† and The Girl from H.O.P.P.E.R.S., but the same pessimistic Orwellian tone does not dominate her life because of the existence of strong family ties and friendships that helped her grow as a woman and as a human being. Personal experiences of social inequality are similar to these essays and the novel, where social class affected how people treated each other. Growing up as a middle class and studying at a private school provide similar experiences as Orwell’s â€Å"Such, Such Were the Joys.† He experienced being be aten up because of wetting his bed. He could not understand why something he could not control result to the head mistress, Flip, seeing that â€Å"the proper cure was a beating† (Orwell â€Å"Such† 1). The beating inevitably made him more anxious and increased his bed wetting woes. It is possible too that his restlessness comes from the feeling of not being able to fit into a posh school. Sambo wants to attract fame and money to his school: â€Å"One was to attract titled boys to the school, and the other was to train up pupils to win scholarships at public schools, above all at Eton† (Orwell â€Å"Such† 2). In doing so, he increases the gulf between Orwell and his richer classmates. The differences in treatment between the very rich and just affluent enough is clear. Orwell thinks about these differentiated treatments: â€Å"I doubt whether Sambo ever caned any boy whose father's income was much above ?2,000 a year† (Orwell â€Å"Such† 2). This writer feels the same brunt of being poor, although not entirely poor. Having studied in a private school, where many students are extremely rich, she feels left out. The school is not her second home, but a place to be judged and compared to others. Being different to the eyes of others because of physical differences and confidence is compared to The Girl from H.O.P.P.E.R.S. Rena befriends India, who thinks she is a â€Å"little monster† (Hernandez 14). As a midget wrestler, India is both cheered and jeered. In the end, she feels a small and helpless being with no friends and future. The writer shares the same helpless feelings, but not the lack of future. She manages to feel strong despite feeling small in a world that she feels is bigger than her. The writer feels the same negative way of seeing her difference; her strength has become her source of loneliness too. Social division happens because some people focus on differences in race, religion, political ideologie s, and gender. Being a strong and individualistic woman is considered abnormal, as in The Girl from H.O.P.P.E.R.S. Rena has the respect of people because of her size and strength. But like India, society sees her as a freak. This is why she feels empathy for India; they are the same in many ways, only in different packages. This writer understands how it feels to be socially alienated. It cuts into her identity, which could have made her just as miserable as

Discuss the theory of Transfer Pricing in relation to competitiveness, Essay

Discuss the theory of Transfer Pricing in relation to competitiveness, management, minimisation, avoidance and internal concerns. Use the theory as basis for a - Essay Example Optimal transfer pricing techniques are adopted by MNCs to maximize profits within the organization through tax liability avoidance (Keegan and Green 2005). The strategic imperatives behind transfer pricing efforts include a desire to have a competitive edge over rivals, minimize costs or maximize revenue, maximize strategic management-related gains such as x-efficiency and above all establishing market leader status. Any MNC would introduce its product into a foreign market by using transfer pricing as a very attractive pricing strategy within the organization itself. The first and foremost strategic initiative is to arrive at an overall estimate of the organization’s cost structure and its composition such as the amount of fixed cost, variable cost, average cost and marginal cost. Then the firm would look at its revenue flow estimates such as the total revenue, average revenue and marginal revenue. An MNC would adopt optimal transfer pricing strategy and its variants to achieve organizational goals and corporate objectives as an MNC across the world (Elliot and Emmanuel 2000). This paper would examine in detail the Japanese market for Xbox 360 with the main focus on strategic transfer pricing techniques that would be adopted by Microsoft in Japan to achieve its main organizational aims. Thus, its remit would include such international marketing concepts as strategic market/customer/product/competitor orientation, and tactics like the principle of maximum product differentiation. It is not unusual for MNCs to apply transfer pricing in a variety of international business contexts. Video game console market in the world has not only been noticed to possess some peculiar characteristics but also it has intrinsically developed unique trend of extrapolation in conformance with cross self-entertainment specificities across a series

Macbeth Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1250 words

Macbeth - Essay Example It is under this contemporary socio-political ambience that one has to re-read William Shakespeare’s classic tragedy, Macbeth. Its relevance is in our own socio-political scenario. It shows that though there is enough goodness in the society, the evil forces often dominate. The rulers are more concerned about their self achievements and gains than the collective progress of the society. This leads to the dominance of the evil over the goodness around. But Shakespeare predicts the failure of the evil and final victory for the good. It was the Greek philosopher Aristotle (384BC -322 BC) who defined the dramatic form of Tragedy in his great work â€Å"Poetics†. According to Aristotle, a tragic hero should never be perfect. The fall of a completely virtuous person from a height will create only moral anger among the audience. The fall of a villainous person will only satisfy the moral sense among the audience for the appropriate punishment for the villain .Thus Aristotle in sists that the best tragic hero exists in between such extremes. â€Å"A person who is neither perfect in virtue and justice nor one who falls into misfortune through vice and depravity, but rather one who succumbs through some miscalculation† (Poetics, Chapter 13). According to the Aristotelian standards Shakespeare’s Macbeth falls into one of the best tragic heroes possible. ... Macbeth is a Scottish general who is depicted as a courageous soldier. Macbeth appears in the play first as wounded captain who narrates his courageous acts in the battle field. So the initial impression created is that he is a brave and efficient soldier. Such a man is not, by natural logic prone to commit evil deeds. But this perspective about him gets upset once he interacts with the three witches who prophecies that he is to be the future king. With this prophecy, his physical courage gives away as a mask to the hunger for more and more power and advancement in the power structure. This forces him to commit evil deeds. Just the prediction that he will become the king was enough to trigger these inner self full of ambitions. Ambitions also lead him to self doubts too. Thus the character of Macbeth is a battle field of three strong attributes of his character – Physical strength and courage, ambition for more power, and self doubt. All these attributes are so strong that thr ough out the play they battle with each other for supremacy. Finally his ambitions take over leading to a sense of guilt too. What emerges out is a man of very weak character. Thus Macbeth turns out to be not a Shakespearean villain, but a tragic hero, who perishes by his own doings. The villains of Shakespeare like Edmund in King Lear or Iago in Othello or Richard the third in the play by the same name are mere villains and not tragic heroes, because they have the inner strength to subdue any sort of sense of guilt and self doubt. They are sure characters who knew what they are doing. Macbeth on the other hand is not equipped mentally to face the after effects of the crimes he commits. His courage and strength are more

The Tempest Research Paper Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1500 words

The Tempest - Research Paper Example Motifs, therefore, help Shakespeare bring out the veracious analogies underlying in his text. The tempest that occurs at the beginning of the paly symbolizes notable things. To begin with, it highlights the conflicts occurring between the characters in the boat. This, especially, is crucial in the context of a wedding and a serene sea that may not promise an underlying tension. The tempest warns the audience that the characters in the boat have unresolved differences. It is essential to note that the storm places Prospero’s enemies at a vulnerable position, whereby he can exploit them for his own ends. This symbolizes his earlier suffering and struggle. Just as Prospero suffered in the sea some years ago, he places the victims of the shipwreck at the mercy of the sea. The audience later uncovers that the storm is not a natural occurrence as it had been caused by Prospero. A malicious aspect of magic warns the audience of the danger of dalliance with a mystical world. Prospero, however, is careful and conscientious enough to only use magic as a means of punishment, but not as a way of obliterating his enemies. This is because the storm does not cause any harm. In a large sense, the tempest reveals a noble and benevolent character of Prospero that seeks to realign the society towards normalcy. More essentially, the tempest represents a social upheaval that upsets the status of the privileged class in the society. The storm sets the Shakespearean society for a more egalitarian mode of life that respects the dignity of the person. When the characters suffer from the shipwreck, it manifests that death is a unifying factor that does not favor a person, regardless of one’s societal status. Shakespeare, in the character of Prospero, is an idealist who detests the feudal systems that place a certain class of individuals above others. He, therefore, see ks to reveal the meaninglessness of royal titles in life. Music is also an important motif

Fundamental International Relation Theory Issues Essay

Fundamental International Relation Theory Issues - Essay Example Class, in these terms, is the way economic power is distributed when economic activity is organized in an instrumentally-rational manner to the greatest degree. The problem of exploitation the extraction of labor effort from workers are treated, in this framework, primarily as a problem of technical efficiency and economic rationality in creating work incentives and effective discipline. This leads to a relatively impoverished conception of the nature of antagonistic interests generated by class relations. Key readings from Marx ("The Communist Manifesto" and "On Classes") help us understand the sociological analyses of inequality in the concepts of social class, exploitation, surplus value, markets, status, and power. (Dell, 227-9) The importance of production relations in Marxian theory with beliefs that the economic exchange is a positive-sum game and its emphasis on market relations could be a key prospect in understanding the basic or fundamental influence on modern European society. It could well be suggested that both property and market dynamics are important by relating each to the concepts of class composition. The basic concept may be incorporated into positive-sum game's emphasis on social closure to more clearly differentiate social classes which could develop into a model of the class structure, usefully differentiates relational and gradational conceptualizations of social class, and re-visits some key differences between Marxian and positive-sum game theory. But the end goal being the evaluation of Marxian and positive-sum game theory in the perspective of the modern society it could be well punctuated that the basic relevance of these perceptions are present even today but not necessarily in a visible manner. The insights of Marx and positive-sum game remain integral to sociological analyses of inequality even as more recent scholarship has promoted more contextual, and some would say more nuanced, models. Endometrial Cancer Essay Endometrial cancer refers to several types of malignancy which arise from the endometrium, or lining of the uterus. Endometrial cancers are the most common gynecologic cancers in the United States, with over 35,000 women diagnosed each year in the U. S. The most common subtype, endometrioid adenocarcinoma, typically occurs within a few decades of menopause, is associated with excessive estrogen exposure, often develops in the setting of endometrial hyperplasia, and presents most often with vaginal bleeding. Endometrial carcinoma is the third most common cause of gynecologic cancer death (behind ovarian and cervical cancer). A total abdominal hysterectomy (surgical removal of the uterus) with bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy is the most common therapeutic approach. Endometrial cancer may sometimes be referred to as uterine cancer. However, different cancers may develop not only from the endometrium itself but also from other tissues of the uterus, including cervical cancer, sarcoma of the myometrium, and trophoblastic disease. Classification Most endometrial cancers are carcinomas (usually adenocarcinomas), meaning that they originate from the single layer of epithelial cells which line the endometrium and form the endometrial glands. There are many microscopic subtypes of endometrial carcinoma, including the common endometrioid type, in which the cancer cells grow in patterns reminiscent of normal endometrium, and the far more aggressive uterine papillary serous carcinoma|papillary serous carcinoma and clear cell endometrial carcinomas. Some authorities have proposed that endometrial carcinomas be classified into two pathogenetic groups:[1] †¢ Type I: These cancers occur most commonly in pre- and peri-menopausal women, often with a history of unopposed estrogen exposure and/or endometrial hyperplasia. They are often minimally invasive into the underlying uterine wall, are of the low-grade endometrioid type, and carry a good prognosis. †¢ Type II: These cancers occur in older, post-menopausal women, are more common in African-Americans, are not associated with increased exposure to estrogen, and carry a poorer prognosis. They include: †¢ the high-grade endometrioid cancer, †¢ the uterine papillary serous carcinoma, †¢ the uterine clear cell carcinoma. In contrast to endometrial carcinomas, the uncommon endometrial stromal sarcomas are cancers which originate in the non-glandular connective tissue of the endometrium. Uterine carcinosarcoma, formerly called Malignant mixed mullerian tumor, is a rare uterine cancer which contains cancerous cells of both glandular and sarcomatous appearance in this case, the cell of origin is unknown. Signs Symptoms Vaginal bleeding and/or spotting in postmenopausal women †¢ Abnormal uterine bleeding, abnormal menstrual periods †¢ Bleeding between normal periods in premenopausal women in women older than 40: extremely long, heavy, or frequent episodes of bleeding (may indicate premalignant changes) Women with stage 1 disease who are at increased risk for recurrence and those with stage 2 disease are often offered surgery in combination with radiation therapy. Chemotherapy may be considered in some cases, especially for those with stage 3 and 4 disease. hormonal therapy with progestins and antiestrogens has been used for the treatment of endometrial stromal sarcomas. The antibody Herceptin, which is used to treat breast cancers that overexpress the HER2/neu protein, has been tried with some success in a phase II trial in women with uterine papillary serous carcinomas that overexpress HER2/neu. Radiation therapy for endometrial cancer Radiation therapy is the use of high-dose X-rays to destroy cancer cells. Radiation therapy may be used to treat endometrial cancer after hysterectomy or as the primary therapy, particularly for women who cannot have surgery. The two types of radiation therapy that may be used to treat endometrial cancer are: †¢ Internal radiation therapy (brachytherapy), in which radioactive materials (radioisotopes) are placed into the uterus or other areas where the cancer cells are found. External beam radiation therapy, in which radiation comes from a machine outside the body. In brachytherapy, tiny tubes of radioactive material are inserted through the vagina and left in the uterus for 2 to 3 days. Brachytherapy may be done in the hospital or as on an outpatient basis. External beam radiation therapy is usually done in an outpatient treatment center. A typical therapy course is radiation treatments 5 days a week for 4 to 6 weeks. Radiation therapy may cause side effects, including: †¢ Fatigue. †¢ Dryness, itching, tightening, and burning in the vagina. Red, dry, tender, itchy skin. †¢ Moist, weepy skin (later in the treatment). †¢ Hair loss in the treated area. †¢ Loss of appetite. †¢ Diarrhea. †¢ Frequent and uncomfortable urination. If surgery is not recommended, radiation therapy alone may be used. Radiation therapy may also be used if more extensive cancer is discovered during surgery. †¢ Stage IV: Radiation therapy may be used if the cancer is contained in the pelvic region but is usually not recommended if the cancer has spread (metastasized) to other parts of the body. Endometrial cancer may recur. Radiation therapy may be used to control symptoms and increase comfort. Radiation therapy may cure your cancer if the cancer is confined to your vagina and radiation therapy has not been used before.

Time Travel through HOLE Teleportation

Time Travel through HOLE Teleportation Kishan Majethia Abstract Time travel as its name suggest is movement of an object over time constraining its motion over space. By constraining the motion of an object in space it can be forced to move the object in time. Thus time travel is nothing but movement of an object from one location to another (over time) without interfering through intermediate medium. Index Terms Time Travel, Conservation of mass, momentum and Energy, Introduction Time travel is basically a concept of moving over time being constrained to move over space, after being isolated from the surrounding environment. It’s like propagating body in fourth dimension which is being considered as time without violating any of the basic laws of nature that is Law of conservation of mass, momentum or energy In Introduction you can mention the introduction about your research. Research and collected data Below given is some of the data being collected from real life being experienced time shift: Two female academics, Eleanor Jourdain and Charlotte Anne Moberly allegedly experienced here a time slip, and saw Marie Antoinette, theComte de Vaudreuiland some other people in the time of the French Revolution. The time slip of Air Marshal Sir Robert Victor Goddard over the former Royal Air Force stationDrem Airfieldin 1935. The man often calledTime Traveling Hipsterfrom the reopening ceremony of South Forks Bridge in Gold Bridge, British Columbia, Canada, 1941. [1] WRITE DOWN YOUR STUDIES AND FINDINGS Time travel as being shown in many of the movies is theoretically possible as being recent research, but has been practically not possible until now due to some practical difficulties like violation of law of conservation of energy, momentum, space, etc. As any person travel in time he should be interacting with two environment simultaneously, which is not possible practically. So we should device a system which can practically isolate the body from present environment and can bring them in newer environment. This is being popularly known as time machine which we can device in such a way that it isolate totally inside environment from present environment. So that body can appear in future without violating laws. [2] Another limitation that hinders time travel is law of conservation of energy, mass, momentum, etc. Any object with a specified energy, mass and momentum if disappears in present environment should bring back another object of same mass, energy and momentum for successful transfer. The second step of hole teleportation is complete disappearance from one place and appearing at some other place. This can be occurred by creating a hole at place of object (since matter can’t exist inside hole). It should also exclude all the possibilities of reappearing in space. As being constrained of space travel it will travel in time. Third step of time travel is that it should have all the possibility of occurrence of that object at some space in future or past (that place should exist), obeying all laws of conservation of energy, mass, momentum. All things considered, for time travel I propose to create around a body a very complicate digital electric or magnetic fields. For example, we create around object the picture In the Woods by electric or magnetic fields. In this way, we create the unique place with unique force fields in the Universe. Therefore, if we send an object outside of Universe, it cannot appear in other place with similar force fields because such place does not exist in the Universe. And object cannot reappear in the start place because matter cannot exist inside of hole sphere (outside of the universe). The main difference between past and future is the rate of cosmological expansion. The space-time metric changes over time in such a way that the spatial dimensions appear to grow or stretch as the universe gets older. At cosmological metric expansion, the distances between every two points on Earth increase. It is imperceptible in our everyday life but it is the cumulative effect due to during a long time the objects and force fields changes. Here I want tounderline that local observer cannot measure this effect because its body and measuring devices changes in the same proportion. The difference between object’s size in the past and future appears at time travel only. Therefore the same body may have different sizes in the past and future. We can use this effect in order to travel in the past or future. In this way, if the object cannot appear in space today, it may appear in the past or future because the force characteristics of destination place changes in time due to cos mological expansion, solar storms and vacuum fluctuations. Besides, during the journey Earth move near other stars and galaxies, this may change all the force fields in the destination place. The direction of time travel (in the past or the future) depends on the start conditions at hole teleportation. If we want to travel in past we must find ways to contract all distances on start place (including a object and teleporter) before teleportation because in the past cosmological expansion was slower and all objects has the smaller sizes. To do this, we must create the generator of holes, because holes able to contract distances. In contrast, for time travel in the future we must expand a body because universe is expanding at an accelerating rate. Thus, by selecting the start conditions we may travel in the past or future using hole teleportation. For travel in a very deep future, over one million years, we must increase the velocity of traveler because he traverses the cosmologically big distances and must account the cosmological expansion. HR Management Policies Across Business Types

HR Management Policies Across Business Types HR Management Policies 1Thessalonian 2:6-12 (Life Application Study Bible) we were not looking for praise from men, not from you or anyone else. As apostles of Christ his people could have been a burden to you, but his people were gentle among you, like a mother caring for her little children. Our own selves loved you so much the we were delighted to share with you not only the gospel of God but our lies as well, because you had become so dear to us. Surely you remember brothers, our tail and hardship; we worked night and day in order not to be a burden to anyone while we preached the gospel of God to you. You are witnesses, and so is God, of how holy, righteous and blameless we were among you who believed. For we know that we dealt with each of you as a father deals with his own children, encouraging comforting and begging you to live lies worthy of God, who calls you into his kingdom and glory. In trying to persuade people, we may be tempted to alter our position just enough to make our message more pala table or to use flattery or praise. Paul never changed his message to make it more acceptable, but he did tailor his methods to each audience and did not compromise. Organizations practice human resource management and development for at least one of three reasons: (1) To avoid fines and lawsuits; (2) to maximize and protect the investment they have made in employees; (3) because they are dealing with human beings. All three are legitimate, but only the third reason is a constant. Abused employees may or may not sue or file complaints. It may or may not cost an organization anything to replace them. But they are always human. It is a core Christian belief that humans, created in Gods likeness and redeemed through the death of Jesus Christ, are priceless custody of Almighty God. How then should leader approach managing and developing them when they have been assigning to us? When leaders consider how they think and act toward employees whose lives and careers are under their control whether in the area of benefits and wages, advancement and development opportunities, safety and comfort. Gods Word exhorts them to treat those followers as human beings. Paul defined his relationship to the Thessalonians both as a mother (v. 7) and a father (v. 11). Paul made decisions concerning particular followers in Thessalonica by asking him, If this were my son or daughter, what would I do? Not a bad starting point. Jesus told his follows, in John (15:5). I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and me in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. The severity of the words is like a slap in the face. Without Jesus we can do nothing. Well, we could build a business and a comfortable nest egg. But from Jesus perspective, those things are nothing. Only the things done with and for him are worthwhile and have any chance of lasting. The marvelous part of Gods administration is that he has gifted each of us and equipped us to engage in something that really will echo throughout eternity. By taking the Word of God, which will last forever, and investing it in human beings, who will last forever, we can leave an indelible mark on the halls of history. What higher calling can there be than to become like Jesus and equip others to do the same? This is our glorious privilege: to assist others in developing their Christ like potential. Business description: A.B.C. Daycare Center/Preschool/ before and after school program in Colorado Springs, Inc., a nonprofit organization. The business got started in March of 2015; we are also part of the church, Word of Truth Worship Center. Our current location is at 3613 Betty Dr. Colorado Springs, Colorado 80917. Hours of operation are Monday-Friday from 6:00 to 5:30. Families that are in need of child care, we teach group time, ABCs, writing, art and crafts. Also, we take the kids on field trips. We started out as a small daycare, now we are becoming a much larger daycare center. Milestone Two Policies Human resources (HR) Management philosophy: The fairness of process and procedure Processes used to make decisions, allocate rewards, and resolve disputes are fair and unbiased, Six criteria related to procedural justice 1. Consistency across people and over time 2. Bias suppression -suppression of self-interest and blind allegiance 3. Accuracy of information and opinion used in decision making 4. Correct ability of decisions made in error or with inaccurate information 5. Representativeness of all affected subgroups and individuals 6. Ethicality processes are compatible with prevailing moral and ethical standards (Rousseau, 1995). Organizational structure: by Lucky Friend, Organizational structure is a system used to define a hierarchy within an organization. It identifies each job, its function and where it reports to within the organization. This structure is developed to establish how an organization operates and assists an organization in obtaining its goals to allow for future growth. The structure is illustrated using an organizational chart. Tasked of human resource management: Conducting job analysis Planning labor needs Orienting and training new employees Managing wages and salaries Providing incentives and benefits Appraising performance Communicating Training and developing Building employee commitment (Garris, 2017). Duties of positions in HR department; Recruiter, Benefits and Training. CEO is the governing broad, excusive director, administrative staff, teacher staff, parents, and support staff. A.B.C. Daycare Center Organizational Chart Director Assistant Director Teaching Staff Administrative Staff Support Staff The Categories three types; Transactional, Tactical, or Strategic? 1. Entering applicant resumes for an open position 2. Aligning reward systems with organizational goals 3. Creating new-hire orientation 4. Interviewing candidates for an open position 5. Conducting performance reviews 6. Managing supply and demand for labor 7. Cross-training employees 8. Forecasting employee competency needs 9. Maintaining workplace safety programs 10. Documenting disciplinary actions Paul summarized the core of Christian living in Romans 12:17-21. We love someone the way Christ loves us, we will be willing to forgive our sisters, brother, co-worker and friends. If we have experienced Gods grace. We will want to pass it on to family, friend and others. And remember, grace is undeserved favor. By giving an enemy a help, we not excusing his misdeeds, were recognizing him, forgiving him, and loving him in spite of his sins just as Christ did for his people. Policies and procedures regarding EEO, harassment, and discrimination. What is Harassment? Harassment is a form of employment discrimination that violates Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act of 1967, (ADEA), and the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, (ADA). The harasser can be the victims supervisor, a supervisor in another area, an agent of the employer, a co-worker, or a non-employee. The victim does not have to be the person harassed, but can be anyone affected by the offensive conduct. Unlawful harassment may occur without economic injury to, or discharge of, the victim. What is Discrimination? Discrimination is dealing with human resources issues of discrimination requires a combination of proactive and reactive measures. Proactive measures include demonstrating good faith efforts to prevent workplace discrimination and harassment and embracing HR best practices for addressing discrimination. Discrimination is an inevitable and unfortunate consequence, given the level of diversity, varied work styles, generations and personalities in the workforce. However, employers develop ways to deal with HR issues of discrimination through creating basic workplace principles based on mutual respect and adherence to laws that prohibit discrimination. A.B.C. Child Development Center admits children of any race, religion, disability, national, and ethnic origin. To all the rights, privileges, programs and activities made available to students at the school. We do not discriminate in any way within the administered program. A multicultural curriculum is offered. The special needs of a child or children; A.B.C. Child Development Center is here to support you and your family. Services and programs may be provided for handicapped child / children when: The special needs of the particular child can be reasonably accommodated by our facility. Accommodation in such cases (alone, or together with other such cases) is not reasonable if it would impose an undue hardship on the operation of the facility and staff members. At the time of registration parents will be asked if their child/children have any special needs. Based upon the response of the parent, the child/children placement may or may not need to be reviewed by our facility Health Nurse. The three job descriptions that A.B.C. Daycare Center has are Assistance Director: wide variety of responsibilities, including managing staff, interacting with parents, working with children and wants to provide the students best possible experience, skilled at CPR, first aid and other routine emergency treatments, very organized, detail-oriented, trustworthy and responsible. Daily staffing schedules, changing toddlers diaper, checking children attendance daily, evaluate staff member and training. A. B.C. Daycare Center requires a minimum education required to work as an assistant director of a day care center is a high school diploma or equivalent. Candidates with a two-year degree in early childhood development, some accounting or another related subject area will have a competitive edge. We require a minimum of six months to one year of experience working in a day care facility. A.B.C. Daycare Center Job descriptions for Teaching Staff: supervising and disciplining children, organizational duties change toddlers diaper, group time, keep records, responsible for setting up classroom work. The lead teacher develops both long- and short-term lesson plans based on the curriculum and philosophy of the daycare center. While a day care lead teacher doesnt give children grades, she does assess their developmental growth. She maintains a record of that growth and keeps parents up to date communicating with parents is a routine part of the teachers job. The lead teacher is also responsible for setting up her classroom to reflect the lessons she is currently teaching. For example, she might create a bulletin board with labeled colors when teaching the class about colors. Routine record keeping, such as attendance, is the lead teachers responsibility as well. As she keeps records, she must keep in mind the information is confidential. Milestone Three Description A.B.C. Daycare Center Job descriptions for Administer Staff: Record keeping of documents, business information system, finances and information about the children in the daycare, keep records of all the purchases, parent information, and pay roll. The Sources of candidates, methods of recruiting, the candidates that I am looking for are experience in daycare working with kids, they need to be certified in child care or license, the methods used are craigslist, indeed.com, bulleting broad, new paper, and by word of mouth. General outline of the application process including a list of any documents required from the applicant and how the information will be used. For all applicants applying for jobs and business organization it is significant to know how the job application procedure works. This continuous guide to the job application performance includes information on applying for jobs: cover letters and resumes, completing job applications, testing and employment screening, background and reference checks, interviewing and the hiring performance. Selection process of testing and interviewing including what you hope to learn about the candidate through the process. Interviewing candidates for a position within the organization is one of the final steps in the hiring methods. Before you get to this step, the company wants to make sure that you have completed all of the recessing steps since each of these steps will have a direct impact on how effective the interview stage will be. At this stage you hope to learn what their strengths, personality and experience. Additional selection techniques you may choose to include (background check) in the Job of the Daycare, the State requires a background check of anyone hired to work with children, having a felony will disqualify anyone to work with children. According to Leman and Pentak, Each one of us has been hardwired with a distinct personality, Neumann continued by saying, some of us are wired to be extroverts; others, introverts. Some people love repetition. They love knowing that theyre going to do the same thing in their job tomorrow that they did today (p.37). According to Dessler, (2013), Employers use tests to measure a wide range of candidate attributes, including cognitive (mental) abilities, physical abilities, and interests, and achievement (p.106). In conclusion, this paper introduced Policies and procedures regarding EEO, harassment, discrimination, discrimination, three or more job descriptions application process, processing of testing and interviewing and learn about the candidate through the process. Suppose one of you wants to build a tower. Will he not first sit down and estimate the cost to see if he has enough money to complete it? (Luke 14:28). When a builder does not count the cost or estimates it accurately, the building maybe left incomplete. Will we disregard the Christian life after a little while because we did not count the cost of commitment to Jesus? What are those costs? Christians may face loss of social status or abundance. We have to give up control over our family, and even put to death. Following Christ does not mean a trouble-free life. We must carefully count the cost of becoming Christs disciples so that we will know what we are getting into, so we would not be tempted later to turn back. According to Luke 16:11, So if you have not been trustworthy in handling worldly wealth, who will trust you with true riches? Our integrity often meets its match in money matters. God calls us to be honest even in small details we are more valuable than earthy wealth. If we are not trusted with our money here on earth, no matter how much or little we have, we will be unfit to handle the vast riches of Gods kingdom. Do not let your integrity slip in small matters and it will not fall on you in crucial decisions either. Policies and rationale regarding Training and Development: Policy: There are several forms that make up the A.B.C. Daycare Center enrollment packet. This enrollment packet must be completed and in our possession before we can assume the responsibility of caring for your child. This is to ensure that the child will get the very best care possible and satisfies the record keeping requirement of the state licensing guidelines. All forms will be reviewed annually. If there are changes to any of the forms in the enrollment packet, please notify the director to update the parent records. If they have any questions regarding the completion of these forms, please feel free to ask the director. Registration Fees: There is a $75.00 for two children and $50.00 for one child Non- Refundable registration fee per family at time of enrollment. If they terminate childcare services and are gone more than 90 days and wish to return to A.B.C. Daycare Center, they must re-submit the application and the registration fees of $75.00 for two children and $50.00 for one child. Last week security deposit: upon enrolling their child/children all parents are require to pay an amount equal to one weeks childcare as a last week of care security deposit. Milestone Four: Procedures The specific rates will be outlined in the Contract and Rate Agreement. Fees is payable in advance and is due no later than 12 oclock noon on Friday, each week for the following weeks daycare, unless other arrangements has been agreed upon. Payment may be made by check, money order or cash. There will be a late fee of $10 for failure to pay by noon on Friday. The success of our center depends upon the prompt payment of charge/fees in order to take care of day-to-day incurred expense. Parents Vacation, you must continue to pay your tuition on your vacation to hold your daycare spot. Maternity Leave, to hold a spot you must continue to pay while you are on maternity leave. Some Daycare have procedure list are: The number of children in the daycare is governed by the Community Care Licensing Regulations. Children of Young Parents returning to school to continue their education are accepted and if a space is not available the last child into the daycare will be given 2 weeks notice of losing their space. . Children are accepted into the daycare on a first come basis. The childs name is entered on the data according to the date of the initial phone call. When an opening for the daycare occurs, the group Leader will contact the parents or guardians of the first child on the waiting list by telephone. Children will be removed from the waitlist upon the following reasons: à ¯Ã‚ Ã‚ ¶ Parents or guardians request à ¯Ã‚ Ã‚ ¶ Child is over 36 months of age à ¯Ã‚ Ã‚ ¶ Family has moved away or phone number is out of order (the client is then unreachable). Compensation and Benefits Child-care workers who are employed at preschools organization or daycare organization are sometimes likely to receive benefits such as medical insurance, 401k retirement packages, depending on the type of school, collage grand, or two week vacation. Nannies and au pairs tend not to receive such asset, but are often qualified to buy their own assistance, such as insurance plans and retirement packages before taxes, as they can be paid as independent contractors. According to Gary (2013), Employee compensation refers to all forms of pay or rewards going to employees and arising from their employment (p.188). Title VII of the Civil Rights Act makes it unlawful for an employer to discriminate against any individual with respect to hiring, compensation, terms, conditions, or privileges of employment because of race, color, religion, sex, or national origin (p.189). Performance management Define the purpose of the job, duties. Define performance goals with measurable outcomes. Define the priority of each job responsibility and target. Define production standards for key components of the job. Hold interim discussions and provide assessment about employee performance, preferably daily, summarized and discussed, at least, quarterly. Provide positive and constructive reaction. Maintain a record of performance through critical incident reports. Provide the opportunity for broader response. Use a 360-degree performance reaction organization that incorporates reaction from the employees peers, people, and customers who may report to him. Develop and administer a coaching and improvement plan if the employee is not meeting expectations. According to Gray (2013), performance management means different things to different people. Some use performance management as synonymous with performance appraisal. Others say performance appraisal represents just the appraisal step-by-step goal-setting/appraisal/feedback performance management cycle (p.159). Each of the functions of Human Resource Management (HRM) really plays a vital role in the effectiveness of any organization. Work system that can bring many advantages to Organization they mainly include: Policies and rationale regarding Training and Development, Compensation and Benefits, Performance management. Jeremiah (29:11) for I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. God people are encouraged by leaders. Who stirs us to move ahead? Everyone who believes can do the task he has given and who will be with us unto the end. God is that kind of leader. He knows the future and plans for his people are good and full of hope. As long as God, who knows the future, provides our agenda and goes with us as we fulfill his mission here on earth. We can have boundless hope. This does not mean that his people will be spared plan, suffering or hardship, but that God will see his people through to a glorious conclusion. I Chronicles (28:20) David also said to Solomon his son, the one whom God has chosen, is young and inexperienced. The task is great, because this palatial structure is not for man but for the Lord God. David encouraged Solomon his son not to be frightened about the size of his job as king and builder of the temple. Fear can immobilize leader. The size of a task, its risks, or the pressure of the situation can cause leader to freeze and do nothing. Dont focus on the fear; instead, get to work. Getting stared is often the most challenging and frightening part of a job. Hiring employees is just a start to creating a strong work force. Next, you have to keep them. High employee turnover costs business owners in time and productivity. Try these tactics to retain your employees. Offer a competitive benefits package that fits your employees needs. Providing health insurance, life insurance and a retirement-savings plan is essential in retaining employees. But other perks, such as flextime and the option of telecommuting, go a long way to show employees you are willing to accommodate their outside lives. Provide some small perks. Free bagels on Fridays and dry-cleaning pickup and delivery may seem insignificant to you, but if they help employees better manage their lives, theyll appreciate it and may be more likely to stick around. Use contests and incentives to help keep workers motivated and feeling rewarded. Done right, these kinds of programs can keep employees focused and excited about their jobs. How to Improve Employee Retention: Attracting the Right Candidates Over the years, Engage has implemented a number of policies that serve the dual purpose of attracting potential employees and keeping current ones passionate and committed. Here are a handful of examples: Engage gives hiring priority to people who live near the office because they believe that long commutes are detrimental to work-life balance. Instead of a traditional vacation policy, the company lets employees take time off from a leave bank, in which they can accumulate as many as 60 days off to use as they see fit. This policy has helped with employee retention, particularly by making it easier for female employees starting families to take time off and ultimately return to work. During the hiring process, Engage administers the DISC Personality test, which charts the four characteristics, drive, influence, steadiness, and compliance, to build personality profiles for new hires. All employees test results are public knowledge, which Hoffman feels helps people understand one another and get along. By setting quarterly goals with rewards attached, such as iPods for the whole team or a trip to a nice restaurant, Engage can encourage employees beyond the competitive and potentially divisive realm of salary bonuses. The group nature of these rewards is important, says Hoffman, because somebody who is not motivated by getting an iPod knows that other people in his or her group are and doesnt want to let them down. Why Engagement is Important According to Gary, (2013). Employee engagement is important because countless employee behaviors, including turnover and withdrawal, echo the degree to which employees are engaged.(p.239). Discipline in the Workplace Discipline in the workplace is the means by which supervisory personnel correct behavioral deficiencies and ensure adherence to established company rules. The purpose of discipline is correct behavior. It is not designed to punish or embarrass an employee. Often, a positive approach may solve the problem without having to discipline. However, if unacceptable behavior is a persistent problem or if the employee is involved in a misconduct that cannot be tolerated, management may use discipline to correct the behavior. In general, discipline should be restricted to the issuing of letters of warning, letters of suspensions, or actual termination. Employers should refrain from disciplining employees by such methods as altering work schedules, assigning an employee to do unpleasant work, or denying vacation requests. Examples of Misconduct Examples of misconduct which could result in discipline: 1. Excessive tardiness 2. Failure to notify of an absence 3. Insubordination 4. Rude or abusive language in the workplace 5. Failure to follow Departmental Rules or Policies , i.e., not wearing safety equipment, not following correct cash handling procedures 6. Dishonesty 7. Theft Of course, discipline may be required for a number of other misconducts. The question that needs to be asked is if the Employer has just cause to impose a form of discipline. Vietnamization (real Version) Essay -- essays research papers fc

Vietnam Controversy   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  It’s January 27th, 1973 and the Vietnam War is over. Peace agreements were signed in Paris by the South Vietnam Communist forces, North Vietnam, South Vietnam and the United States. The meeting lasted for several hours and in that time they agreed on many objectives, including: that U.S. troops would gradually withdraw from Vietnam and all prisoners of war would be released, South Vietnam had the right to choose their own future (whether or not to unite with North Vietnam), and North Vietnamese troops were given the right to remain in South Vietnam with idea that the troops could not be reinforced (â€Å"Vietnam War†). Even after the peace talks, fighting continued between the North and South Vietnamese. After the majority of American soldiers had left, North Vietnam went against all that was agreed on at the peace talks. On December 13, 1974 North Vietnam had started the invasion on the south. By April 30th, 1976, North Vietnamese tanks had occupied Saigon, the capital of South Vietnam, with no trouble, and an evacuation began (see picture 1 & 2). On July 2nd, 1976, the country was united as the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (â€Å"Vietnam War†). If the U.S. had stayed to finish the Vietnamization, there might have been a South Vietnam today. I feel that the U.S. should have never been involved in the war in the first place, however, under the unavoidable circumstances we should have stayed in South Vietnam and helped the country defend themselves on something we made them believe in. We poured so many resources into the war fighting for a cause that many Americans and people in general did not believe in, and to retreat from the South Vietnamese when they needed America’s help the most was very unfair. The Perspectives By comparing the views of Von Don’s Our Endless War Inside Vietnam and some views of â€Å"In Our Times†, I was able to conclude that some of the views from the 1970’s and some of the views of the 1990’s are very alike. Von Don saw differently than the average American, and had incredible insight as to what went wrong towards the fall of South Vietnam. The book seemed to back up everything that Von Don seemed to have a perspective on. I can at least say that the two statements did not conflict. Personal Conclusions Through reviewing both perspectives I came up with several conclusion about t... ... learn. Works Cited Brigham, Robert K. â€Å"The Fall of South Vietnam.† American Journey. Existentialism :: essays research papers

Existentialism Existentialism is a concept that became popular during the second World War in France, and just after it. French playrights have often used the stage to express their views, and these views came to surface even during a Nazi occupation. Bernard Shaw got his play "Saint Joan" past the German censors because it appeared to be very Anti-British. French audiences however immediately understood the real meaning of the play, and replaced the British with the Germans. Those sorts of "hidden meanings" were common throughout the period so that plays would be able to pass censorship. Existentialism proposes that man is full of anxiety and despare with no meaning in his life, just simply existing, until he made decisive choice about his own future. That is the way to achieve dignity as a human being. Existentialists felt that adopting a social or political cause was one way of giving purpose to a life. Sartre is well known for the "Theatre engage" or Theatre 'commited', which is supposedly commited to social and/or political action. On of the major playwrights during this period was Jean-Paul Sartre. Sartre had been imprisoned in Germany in 1940 but managed to escape, and become one of the leaders of the Existential movement. Other popular playwrights were Albert Camus, and Jean Anouilh. Just like Anouilh, Camus accidentally became the spokesman for the French Underground when he wrote his famous essay, "Le Mythe de Sisyphe" or "The Myth of Sisyphus". Sisyphus was the man condemned by the gods to roll a rock to the top of a mountain, only to have it roll back down again. For Camus, this related heavily to everyday life, and he saw Sisyphus an "absurd" hero, with a pointless existance. Camus felt that it was necessary to wonder what the meaning of life was, and that the human being longed for some sense of clarity in the world, since "if the world were clear, art would not exist". "The Myth of Sisyphus" became a prototype for existentialism in the theatre, and eventually The Theatre of the Absurd. Right after the Second World War, Paris became the theatre capital of the west, and popularized a new form of surrealistic theatre called "Theatre of the Absurd". Many historians contribute the sudden popularity of absurdism in France to the gruesome revelations of gas chambers and war atrocities coming out of Germany after the war. The main idea of The Theatre of the Absurd was to point out man's helplessness and pointless existance in a world without purpose. As Richard Coe described it "It is the freedom of the slave to crawl east along the

Flame Test Lab Write-Up

Sydney Schell October 18th, 2012 Identifying Metallic Components Introduction: Spectroscopy is the study of the electromagnetic radiation emitted or absorbed by the atoms and molecules. A photon in short is light. Atoms produce light by putting energy in, the electron then becomes excited and goes up an energy level, the electron then falls back down to its ground state, and out comes a photon (light). The electromagnetic spectrum contains color that we can and cannot see.The color blue has the highest energy with shorter wavelengths and a higher frequency while the color red has the lowest amount of energy with long wavelengths and a shorter frequency. Hypothesis: If you observe the characteristic emission spectra of several gases and metallic ions then you can identify the metallic component(s) of an unknown substance based on flame color. Materials: * Samples of the following metallic salts * Calcium chloride * Copper chloride * Iron chloride * Lithium chloride * Potassium chlorid e * Sodium chloride * Strontium chloride * Unknown 1 * Unknown 2 Bunsen burner and accessories * Safety goggles * Lab apron * Splints soaked overnight in distilled water * 250 mL beaker half full of distilled water Procedures: 1. Place the end of one of the popsicle sticks soaked in a solution into the flame. Note color(s) of the flame and the duration of each color. Immerse the wooden splint in the distilled water to fully extinguish it, and then discard it in the trash. Record your results. 2. Repeat step 4 for each of the remaining salts. 3. Repeat step 4 for each of the unknown metals and predict the identity of the unknown metals.Repeat any of the known metals to help with this prediction. **Wash hands thoroughly before leaving the lab. ** Some of the salts used are poisonous or irritating to the skin. Keep your hands away from your mouth until after you have washed them and have let the laboratory. Results/Data Collection/Analysis: The calcium chloride had a pretty average wav elength and turned the fire green. For some reason CuCl and NaCl both burned orange, coming in with the second lowest energy. Iron chloride had a â€Å"sparky† appearance that lasted for approximately six seconds and it was concluded that it had a high energy.Lithium chloride burned a pinkish color. Potassium chloride had a high energy and produced a purple flame. Strontium chloride had the lowest energy which was determined by red color of its flame. Unknown 1 was strontium chloride and unknown 2 was calcium chloride. The unknowns were found by comparing their flame colors to the known substances. Formula| Metal| Color Observed| Duration(sec)| CaCl2 | Calcium Chloride| Green| N/A| CuCl| Copper Chloride| Orange| N/A| FeCl3| Iron Chloride| Sparkle| 6 sec| LiCl| Lithium Chloride| Pink| N/A| KCl| Potassium Chloride| Purple| N/A| NaCl| Sodium Chloride| Orange| 30 sec|SrCl2| Strontium Chloride| Red| N/A| Unknown 1| Strontium Chloride| Red| 8 sec| Unknown 2| Calcium Chloride| Green | N/A| Questions: 1. What was (were) the identity of the metal ion(s) in the unknown solutions? Give evidence. -Unknown 1 proved to be strontium chloride because they shared the same flame color. Unknown 2 turned out to have a green flame which matched it up with calcium chloride. 2. Predict the flame color if metallic ions of copper and strontium were mixed. -Strontium and copper together should make a red orange or orange red depending on what the dominate color is. 3.Based on the flame colors in the experiment, which single element would most likely be used to produce yellow fireworks? Why? -Iron would most likely be used to make yellow fireworks based on the sparks it has originally have a tannish/yellow color to them. 4. Why do the metals give off light? -When the metals are rammed into heat they react and produce light. 5. Which of the flames that you observed gave off the most energy? -Potassium chloride gave off the most energy and one could tell based on its purple flame. 6 . Why do some of the samples give off more than one color flame? When an electron goes through its excited sate it changes color but when it falls back down to its ground state then it goes back to its original color. Conclusion/Discussion: The hypothesis was supported because once I found out the color flame produced by all the solutions; I could match the unknowns with the known substances. We worked to slowly when we did the lab so we had to use second hand data. Also, lighting the Bunsen burner on fire was not the best idea. Why are the flames of no two gases exactly the same color? -Different gasses have a different amount of electrons on different energy levels.

Howl’s Moving Castle in Terms of the Journey

Howl’s Moving Castle is a film by Hayao Miyazaki, and it follows the life of a young girl who is a hat-maker to many learning experiences, emotional involvements, and physical (laborious) journeys. She starts off as a simple hat maker before trouble befalls her and meets a witch who makes her into an old woman. She runs off to try and reverse the spell, meeting a man and his friends, from inside a moving castle, who journeys together, overcoming all obstacles, and finding her true self again. This movie is mainly focusing on the physical journey, but at the same time, the characters experience not only physical journeys, but also emotional and inner journeys of learning, and developing many feelings toward other people. In the main character’s perspective, the setting shows what a journey of a life she has had so far, and up to what stage of life she is in – ‘time’ being the key word in this journey, since she very soon meets a woman during a windy, s tormy, dark-lighting, night, who curses her into being an old woman, with no time passing for her.And so, in this fashion, she re-meets Howl, the person who once saved her from some ‘blob men’ who were chasing her. Upon meeting him, her path on her journey changes once again – from something of no hope (grayscale), to something that gave her hope, and will eventually restore her (colourful). On the moving castle, she meets many friends. Not only that, but she also finds knobs that transport her to different places once she exits the door, but she is prohibited from going to the one black knob. Her journey does not come across that one knob until near the ending, where, once she turns to that knob and exits, she is not only transferred through space, but also time, and into someone else’s life: Howl’s past. The non-diegetic music also helps lead into the journey, and also helps to create a change of setting. By learning of his journey about how he tra nsformed from that kid, to that present self, she finds out to save him, save his friends, herself, and most importantly also her enemies. This movie is extremely helpful towards the concept of journey as all the characters in it have shown a glimpse (sometimes more) of their journey to the viewer, and allows the audience to empathise with the characters. Taking a step back though, you can really see how their past, present and future journeys are all integrated with each other, influencing and intertwining each other character’s journeys too, like an unbreakable web of chains.Howl’s Moving Castle is similar to The Shawshank Redemption, as it is a film, but not only is it because of it being this text type, but also further represents how journeys are linked together. For Howl’s Moving Castle, things are rehashed from the past, inside the ‘present’ of this movie, but for Shawshank, Andy never had connections with the other convicts, nor did they befo re the crime was committed and they were sent there. The differences range from: one being a fairy-tale world, the other being like a nightmare; and to, most importantly, the environment. The atmosphere and tone influence the emotions of the characters involved as well as the way their journeys turned out, and through which road: in Howl’s Moving Castle, the girl had to save the others, who then in turn, saved her; in Shawshank however, Andy saved himself, and before he’d escaped, he’d influenced others to be safe and hope – although both the endings were implied to be joyous. Also, whilst in Howl’s Moving Castle, there is a lot of physical journey in terms of travelling, in Shawshank, everyone remains inside the prison, unable (or sometimes unwilling) to go out.In both films, the themes of hope and determination are prominent to the journey, although the different personas act and react in different ways. This reinforces the concept that no personà ¢â‚¬â„¢s journey is identical, although it can be similar. Both films are important to the journey, as it emphasises that no matter in which situation, you can still strive for an ultimate good result, and sometimes it is possible to achieve it.

Translation of Phraseological Units with Animal Names

INTRODUCTION Phraseology is a study of set or fixed expressions, such as idioms, phrasal verbs, and other types of multi-word lexical units, in which the component parts of the expression take on a meaning more specific than or otherwise not predictable from the sum of their meanings when used independently. The classification of phraseological units can be different. According to Vinogradov, there are phraseological combinations, unities and fussions. The Koonin’s classification is the latest outstanding achievement in the Russian theory of phraseology. The classification is based on the combined structural – semantic principle and it also considers the quotient of stability of phraseological units. It is represented by nominative phraseological units, nominative – communicative phraseological units, phraseological units – which are neither nominative nor communicative include interjectional word-groups and communicative phraseological units. My research i s related to the phraseological units with zoonimical component and their semantic structure.Zoonims, that are used in our language, are really meaningful, they are directed to the allegorical characteristic, probably metaphorical and stylistically emphasized. The aim of this research is to explore deeper the given phraseological units. I have set such objectives: 1) to explicate a concept of phraseological unit with zoonimical component and to reveal the regularities of their usage; 2) to analyse their semantic and structural peculiarities. The methods investigation research strategy are as followed: 1) method of the system analysis, that is a study of the subject of the investigation as a totality of elements, that create a system; 2) descriptive method, that gives the full description of phraseological units. The object of my investigation is the phraseological units with zoonimical component. The subject is the expressive means of Modern English phraseological units. These means are the morphological, syntactical, phonetic and lexical peculiarities of these phraseological units.Theoretical and practical value of the research consists in that fact, that nowadays there is a small amount of investigations about phraseological units with zoonimical component. Besides, the researches in the area of phraseology have become popular in the last decades. The results of this study are also important for the translation, as the translator should know the peculiarities of different idioms, in this case with zoonimical component. Composition of the research paper: The research consists of the introduction, two chapters, that are theoretical and practical parts, the conclusion and the bibliography.
